CPS to Students: A major victory - Chicago Public schools are now required to teach comprehensive, age appropriate sex education! The Board of Education passed the Family Life and Comprehensive Sexual Health Education policy in April with no objections. The new policy is the result of an incredible and inspiring youth-led effort. It will give young people the information, skills, and encouragement they need to be responsible and will ultimately help to prevent unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. Urbana School District improves health guidelines to include comprehensive sex education On May 17th, the Urbana School Board unanimously approved health education guidelines for the next six years that include a comprehensive, age-appropriate approach to sex education in grades five through twelve.
